A Summer Carved in Stone: Art, Geology and Women's Stories in Portopiccolo
On Tuesday, July 29 at 6:00 PM, meeting in front of the Castelreggio beach resort, just steps from Portopiccolo in the Bay of Sistiana, a unique experience comes to life, blending nature, memory and vision.
A guided walk with Estplore through the former quarry that now houses Portopiccolo, to discover the deep identity of this section of the Karst Plateau, among landscapes, stone and women’s stories.
Between Geology, Art and Female Memory
Along the way, we will explore geological features of the area and an open-air collection of stone sculptures from Aurisina, the result of years of artistic workshops.
Then, a visit to the exhibition/installation La Spaccapietre, hosted at the Portopiccolo Art Gallery, curated by Barbara Kapelj, Gabriele Fuso and Larisa Vrhunc: a multimedia narrative that gives voice and visibility to the women of the Karst, protagonists in the world of stone.
A Toast to Women's Vision
To conclude, a toast with “Woman Vision”, a cuvée of Vitovska, Malvasia and Sauvignon by sommelier and winemaker Noris Colja, in collaboration with the Association of Women in Wine of Friuli Venezia Giulia: a tribute to the silent creative strength of women, in dialogue with stone and memory.
